'Batman: Dark Knightfall' Trailer Stop-Motion Fan Film

Batman: Dark Knightfall Trailer from Parabucks on Vimeo.
This short video is a stop-motion trailer using Dark Knight toys from Hot Toys by Hong Kong based directors Derek Kwok and Henri Wong of Parabucks Co. We've become accustomed to similar stop-motion action for parody on Cartoon Network's Robot Chicken but this is a sincere action trailer using high quality and highly detailed toys. The filmmakers promise to have a full version soon. After viewing you may be surprised that this is their first foray into stop-motion animation. Enjoy.

ART: Wonder Woman and Catwoman by Jeff Chapman

Jeff Chapman is an incredible artist and we've featured his work before. The attention to detail and realistic renderings of our favorite female heroes are works of art.  These two pieces are just a sample of his exquisite portfolio  that can be found on his deviantART site. He gives both Wonder Woman and Catwoman a powerful pose and brings them to life.

ART: Wonder Woman Return by Artgerm

"This is something I did for fun, cos personally I still prefer the old costume of wonder woman instead of the latest design." - Stanley Lau

The Complete DC Nation: 'Batman of Shanghai' Trilogy

Previously, we brought you chapter one in Cartoon Network's DC Nation anime-style short entitled Batman of Shanghai . Now that the other two chapters have aired we thought we'd compile them here for your viewing pleasure. The story set in 1930 Shanghai continues as Catwoman is on the run with Bane in pursuit and Batman ready to jump into action.

Awesome Batman Art Compilation

The incredible folks at Comics Alliance took the time to cull the inter-tubes for some of the best Batman art ever drawn, inked or painted. This gallery features some of the most popular characters, Batman, Robin, Catwoman, Joker, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, etc., by some of the best artists in comics, Alex Ross, Mike Mignola, Darwyn Cooke, Adam Hughes, Cameron Stewart, Jock, Bruce Timm, etc. I had to share these as CA is aware some of these works are spread out through different art sites online and it's such a treat to compile these for fans to see all in one place. Please enjoy.

Justice Mag - Wonder Woman by Artgerm

Here at Spartantown we love us some Wonder Woman as you may have noticed and we were thrilled to come across this illustration by artist Stanley Lau. This faux magazine cover looks realistic and WW is portrayed  as strong as she should be. You can find this and more great pieces at his deviantART site as Artgerm.

Gina Torres as Wonder Woman by Drawing Bored

This beautiful piece by Drawing Bored is a creative juxtaposition of the iconic Wonder Woman with the lovely 'Firefly' actress Gina Torres. I would love to see something like this come to fruition. Torres has the screen presence and certainly the stature of a strong Amazon the role demands. Sadly, DC Entertainment/WB have little organizational skills and bold thinking to put together a proper film franchise for one facet of it's comic book characters trinity .

'Super Girl Colored 2' by Stephen Jorge Segovia

Comic book artist Stephen Jorge Segovia featured this on his deviantART page and he brings this scene featuring Supergirl to life with such vibrant color and detail. I thought it was worth sharing for it's immense beauty.

'Velvet Paintings For Your Inner Nerd' by Bruce White Art Exhibit

We are proud to announce Bruce White's first G1988 solo show, "Velvet Paintings For Your Inner Nerd," opening this Friday night, July 27th, at G1988 (Melrose). Bruce has become one of the most sought after artists in G1988's group shows for the past year, and now Bruce has created an outstanding new body of work, displaying his unreal, and highly praised, talent of creating acrylic paintings of realistic portraits - all on black velvet. Tackling inspiration from Star Trek, Princess Bride, Freaks & Geeks, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and many, many other sources, White's show will go down as one of the most memorable in G1988 history, so make sure not to miss it. It will open this Friday with an opening reception from 7-10 PM, with the artist in attendance! This show will run through August 15th. If you're interested in purchasing any of Bruce's work, you can email us atgallery1988melrose@gmail.com to be added to our Preview List.
