Lara Croft Tomb Raider Short Film That is All Action

Twenty Minutes of Bone Breaking Ecstasy
Fan films have come a long way recently. The production values, acting and action have all taken giant steps in quality. This great fan film simply titled, Croft - Fan Film, is the epitome of what can be done nowadays when you have talented and passionate people with the means to put on an exciting, jawdropping live-action short film based on the video game adventurer.
It could easily have been titled "Lara Croft: First Blood" with the amount of gunplay and hand-to-hand combat on display by the wonderful Cassandra Ebner. This is a must see. Twenty minutes of action and you didn't have to buy a ticket, popcorn or a drink to do it.

"A woman will risk everything to save a young girl held hostage in the mountains by a group of mercenaries.

Inspired by the Tomb Raider video games among others along with some of the great action movies from the 80's.

Croft is a Short Film created by a group of friends with a passion for film maki…

Three years later Habjan has just released Part 3 of the ongoing battle and it's wonderfully rendered with wall-to-wall CGI beatdown action. Please enjoy.

2013 Spartantown Comic Book Awards

A Stellar Year for Sales and Quality in Comic Books in 2013

This year has been tremendous for the comic book industry but not just financially but creatively as well. There has been some consistently great reads as well as new titles that caught fire late in the year. Most of the best comics are creator owned and independently published. Creators free from the creative shackles of corporate comics are noticeably more passionate in their writing and drawing. That's not to say the Big Two don't produce quality products, they do, but the emphasis relies heavily on the latest epic crossover event that will force readers to buy titles they wouldn't normally to keep track of the bigger plot and prop up sales for those lagging books. They keep happening because evidently they work! Sales were up this year and Marvel's epic events (Age of Ultron, Battle of the Atom) were partly responsible. DC Comics had theirs of course (Forever Evil, Death of the Family, Batman: Zero Year, Tr…

Arrow Solidifies Its Place As Best Comic Book Based TV Show with An Explosive Mid-Season Finale

Big Changes Ahead for Oliver Queen and Company Spoilers Ahead

Arrow has steadily beenbuilding to the mid-season finale entitled 'Three Ghosts' and the jam-packed episode did not disappoint and set the stage for an explosive second half. It delivered some twists and turns that could fill multiple episodes but as usual the writers juggled the events, the nuanced ones as well as the action pieces, with precision and tension. And as any great finale it provided some answers while also introducing new obstacles for our hero, vigilante, hood, Oliver Queen. The result was a satisfying and thrilling finale worthy to be called television's best comic book based show.

The poisoned Queen is saved by the scientific handy work of Barry Allen. However, Queen is none too happy that Felicity revealed his identity to Allen. I mean sure he saved his life and all but knowing his real identity is somehow bad? He doesn't trust Allen just yet. It doesn't help that he was hallucinating ab…

'Batman vs Superman': The Flash Expected to Appear and Villain Casting News

The Other Non-Wonder Woman Revelations
Some the news lost amid the Wonder Woman casting of 'Fast and Furious' actress, Gal Gadot, was the additional tidbits reported by Variety. They report the Flash is considered a "lock" to appear in some capacity in the Man of Steel sequel. This could mean a mere cameo or more. Even Wonder Woman's appearance is unclear if it it'll be a substantial role in the movie. The dreaded fickle internet is worried that Superman's movie is turning into a Justice League ensemble. Not sure how that could be bad but the inclusion of more heroes could either complicate the as-of-yet unrevealed plot or merely set the foundation for more solo films ending in a possible team picture. There are many questions remaining and patience on the 'net is an oxymoron.
The other story is Warner Bros.' focus on Kiwi actor Callen Mulvey (Zero Dark Thirty, 300: Rise of an Empire, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) to play an unspecified vil…
