One of the busiest actors in the business is adding a superhero movie to his resume as Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12 Years a Slave, Non-Stop) will be joining former co-star Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice according to Deadline.
Speculation is already running rampant online as to what character he'll play. Some are guessing The Flash, others say it could be Maxwell Lord but most are speculating he'll play Nightwing. No confirmation from the studio that he's even been hired but for some reason the 36 year-old actor is seen as a good fit for the role of the former Robin who has a falling out with Batman and goes his own way as Nightwing.
It would make sense if Affleck had a hand in recruiting him after co-starring and directing him in Argo. Especially, if they'll share scenes together potentially as former allies. You can count on industry blogs trying to dig up the truth on this rumored casting.
A lot is expected of Warner Bros. at San Diego Comic Con in a month for official announcements regarding casting for their alleged planned DC Comics movies including BvS, Justice League, Sandman, and others.
