Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong'o and Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie Cast in 'Star Wars Episode VII'
Back in March, Latino Review reported there were talks with Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o to join J.J. Abrams' production of Star Wars: Episode VII and today that scoop was confirmed. She has been officially cast and fans of the Hollywood darling couldn't be more ecstatic.
Another fan favorite was also announced as Gwendoline Christie who plays Brienne of Tarth on the monster hit HBO show, Game of Thrones, was also added. No details about their roles have been officially released though.
When a photo of a table read with the Episode VII cast was released a lot of the conversation online was the utter lack of female representation in significant numbers. What a difference a month makes as two of the most relevant actresses in pop culture are now joining Carrie Fisher and Daisy Ridley in one of the most anticipated films of 2015.
