|Arkham Manor Available Oct 22|
As a Batman fan I was excited to hear that two new titles were joining the DC Comics line-up. Not that there isn't enough Bat-family books already in circulation but these seemed especially fun additions. Entertainment Weekly had the first looks at Arkham Manor and Gotham Academy available in October.
The reason for the excitement has to do with the writing talent behind both new books. Gerry Duggan (Deadpool, Nova) will pen Manor as Wayne Manor transforms into a macabre holding ground for Gotham's psychos. Art duties will be supplied by Shawn Crystal.
Academy will have the writing team of critically acclaimed Becky Cloonan and Brenden Fletcher. Karl Kerschi will do the art for this monthly teenage prep school drama. Bruce Wayne is a benefactor so there's a chance other notable Gothamites might make an appearance.
These are some surprisingly fresh additions to the Bat books. Especially Gotham Academy for its teenage appeal that has been all but ignored at DC.
