'The Greatest American Hero' is Reborn at Fox from Phil Lord and Chris Miller

For a guy like me whose adolescence spanned the 1980's the news that this cult classic television show, The Greatest American Hero, is getting a chance to return is the best news I've heard all week. What's even better is that The Lego Movie writers/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be executive producers in the planned one-hour TV pilot.

As mash-up videos go this oneIf THE INCREDIBLES Was A CHRISTOPHER NOLAN Filmisn't so much of a stretch when you stop and think about it. It's a remarkable recut of The Incredibles trailer with The Dark Knight score and appropriately ominous voice-over clips ala Chris Nolan.

Brian Wood, Garry Brown and Jordie Bellaire give The Massive (#26) its distinct look and feel as the series winds down. So many great people behind great stories this week.

Donald Glover Gets Animated as Spider-Man for Disney

It may not be exactly what rapper and Community actor Donald Glover and his fans had in mind when the campaign to land the role in 2012's Amazing Spider-Man produced an infectious hashtag - #donald4spiderman - but he's still ecstatic to voice his favorite hero. He didn't get the live-action role but on Disney XD's animated series, Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors, he'll finally get his chance as Miles Morales, the Spider-Man from a parallel universe.

Marvel Totally Respects Women But First Here's Spider-Woman's Butt

In a seemingly deliberate attempt to undermine all the good will Marvel has garnered for releasing an impressive list of female-led solo comic books (She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Elektra, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow) the solicitations for November revealed a stunner of a variant cover for the upcoming new Spider-Woman series by Dennis Hopeless and Greg Land.

In an interview with IGN, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige acknowledged the huge fan support in bringing favorite comic book characters, Captain Marvel and Black Panther, to the big screen but the exec wasn't ready to reveal anything. In fairness to Feige, there's no rush in making comic book movies fans want when audiences keep rushing to see the ones they're given.

Boom!: The Pixar Movie 'Up' as Directed by Michael Bay (Video)

The joke about Michael Bay blowing up everything on screen might be played out (even if accurate) but YouTuber MrStratman7 has taken the lovable Pixar movie Up and given it a slight makeover. Sure,  it's a little derivative but it smartly builds on the action as you'd suspect a Bay-directed animated film would. It's two minutes of heartwarming explosions.

Warner Bros. Does the Right Thing and Moves 'Batman V Superman' Release Date

Warner Bros. announced they'd be moving the highly anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie away from its head-to-head match-up with Captain America 3 on May 6 to March 25, 2016. Whether WB ever intended to keep to that date in the first place is debatable but it sure did spark a lot of controversy among fanboys. It never made sense because having two blockbuster comic book movies on the same weekend dilutes the box office for both features. The studio also released an entire slate of projected DC Comics films through 2020.

Ever since DC Comics announced the new creative team for Batgirl, Cameron Stewart, Brenden Flecther and artist Babs Tarr, the response from fans and comic book creatives has been enormous. Fueling the frenzy is the redesigned costume by Tarr that has ignited such a following online that artists have been posting their homage to the new practical , down-to-earth style, yellow Doc Martin boots and all. It got to the point that all the submissions required its own tumblr page, Batgirl of Burnside, named after her new hip neighborhood she'll be living a less gritty crime fighting existence.
