'The Flash' Review (S1E4): GOING ROGUE

After taking on some tomato cans like an up-and-coming boxer trying to make a name for himself, The Flash comes across a formidable opponent in Leonard Snart. The Cisco-dubbed 'Captain Cold' brought some chilling sobriety to Team Flash as they realize they're not infallible in this week. Also, our favorite computer guru from Starling City, Felicity Smoak, makes a visit.

REVIEW: Memetic #1 by James Tynion IV and Eryk Donovan

Memetic #1 is an apocalyptic future that looks a lot like today. Sure, we’re not bleeding from our eyes and attacking each other in great numbers but we have become slaves or at least zombies to our devices and social media. That’s the conceit in this fresh new limited series from James Tynion IV and Eryk Donovan. The weapon of mass destruction is not a nuclear bomb but a viral meme with a euphoric effect that spreads like a cat video across the world leading to some disastrous results.

5 Diverse Female Directors to Consider for 'Wonder Woman'

The recently announced slate of DC Comics movies planned through 2020 was a cause for celebration. Fans finally got some reassurance from Warner Bros. that they did indeed have a plan after seeing Marvel Studios execute one phase of successful films after another. One of the best news to come out of that announcement was that Wonder Woman was finally getting her own film in 2017. Now the word is that they're looking for a female director to take the reins. We have some suggestions.

'Lazarus' Deluxe Hardcover Edition Available From Image Comics in November

In the Image Comics series LAZARUS, the world has become a feudal state: a few wealthy families control all of the resources, while all other people amount to, if they’re lucky, loyal vassals or serfs. But most are destitute, unprotected, and desperate — what the privileged call “Waste.” This is the world of the New York Times bestselling series by Greg Rucka (Whiteout, Gotham Central, Wonder Woman, Atticus Kodiak novels) and Michael Lark (Gotham Central, Daredevil, SCENE OF THE CRIME), which is now being collected into a deluxe hardcover edition, out in November.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Adrianne Palicki is Battle Ready in Mockingbird Tactical Suit

(Spoilers) Adrianne Palicki debuted last night on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird. However, she was undercover as a Hydra agent keeping an eye on Agent Simmons for Director Coulson. She successfully extracted Simmons when things got sideways and showed off some impressive skills using her signature batons. Yet she was not in her Mockingbird costume. You won't have to wait long though. Here's a look at the tactical suit below which is far different than her comic book designs.

'Gotham' Casts Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins

We've always yearned for Firefly alum, Morena Baccarin, to join the DC Comics live-action universe for years and years. REVIEW: Goners #1 by Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona

Goners #1 by Jacob Semahn and Jorge Corona is a surprisingly fun supernatural adventure series that Steven Spielberg would surely approve of. The Latimer family has been the last line of defense against threats from the underworld and this latest attack thrusts a new generation of defenders in danger before they’re ready. But ready or not the demons are out to get them.

'Gotham' Review (S1E5): "Viper"

Gotham has tip-toed the line between campy self-parody and hard boiled crime drama. Balloonman dipped its toe in those campy waters for a bit before going rated R with Arkham. In Viper, the showlabored a little to achieve real resonance with its best assets - the villains.

'Arrow' Review (S3E2): 'Sara'

Team Arrow deals with the aftermath of Sara's death at the end of the season three premiere. Her brief appearance and sudden death could have been an abrupt and cheap device to drive this season's plot but 'Sara' proved more of a fitting eulogy for a character that has meant so much to the series. It also sets things in motion for things to come, most of them expected, but in a more contemplative way.

Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and 7 More DC Comics Movies Slated Through 2020

During a shareholders meeting of all places Warner Bros. decided to drop the bomb on their tentpole movies scheduled for the next six years. After Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, there'll be a David Ayer (Fury, End of Watch, Training Day) directed Suicide Squad in 2016. In 2017 we'll finally see a Wonder Woman solo film followed by Justice League Part 1. But wait there's more!

'Flash' Review (S1E2): 'The Fastest Man Alive'

As we've learned from watching Arrow producers are not afraid to introduce characters right out of comic book canon. The same goes for The Flash as the villain of 'Fastest Man Alive' was Multiplex (Captain Clone didn't quite stick) another meta-human courtesy of the particle accelerator explosion. His capability to instantaneously duplicate himself into endless controllable clones made for some amazing special effects but the heart of the episode was Barry's daddy issues.

new comics 10/15 by Slidely Slideshow

A fairly light week in comics. It's heavier in independents which is always a good thing and with Halloween fast approaching there's a lot of supernatural stuff being released.

'Gotham' Review (S1E4) - 'Arkham'

Earlier today word came out that Fox's Gotham got a full season order of 22 episodes. The show has done extremely well in the ratings and it seems the network's gamble to have a Batman prequel has paid off so far. That means there'll be six more episodes to look forward to. As for tonight's Arkham episode, well, it was eye popping.

First Look: Angelica Celaya as 'Zed' and New 'Constantine' Promo

Here’s the first look at Angelica Celaya as Zed in NBC’s DC Comics-based Constantine. She’ll be John Constantine’s ally in fighting supernatural forces but won’t take any gruff from him even if they are former lovers. The fan-favorite comic book character was added after Lucy Griffiths left the series after shooting the pilot as showrunners were looking for a different, stronger relationship than the one written for the show. They went with an established storyline that will no doubt explore her “very dark past” and allow her to play his foil.

'Arrow' Season 3 Premiere Review: 'The Calm'

Arrow finally returned for season 3 in what seemed like ages ago and fans were rewarded with thrills, romance and a shocking ending. More on that later but be mindful there will be spoilers. Once the sole comic book based show on TV, Arrow is the veteran now amid an onslaught of new and upcoming series. Even on the CW, The Flash was welcomed to the network's highest ratings in five years. Yet, the show based on DC Comics' Green Arrow is still the best.

'The Flash' Review: Pilot Episode

If you're one of those folks who bemoan the glut of "dark" and "gritty" superhero movies and shows you can rejoice because CW's The Flash is going to restore your faith in the good guys. The comic book hero comes to life in the endearing hands of Grant Gustin, who as Barry Allen, is more mature than Peter Parker, less hokey than Clark Kent and doesn't brood like Bruce Wayne. It's time to have fun playing hero again.

REVIEW: Wytches #1 by Scott Snyder and Jock

Inspired by his childhood memories of weekends at a cabin in the woods in Pennsylvania, Scott Snyder has put a new spin on horror by reinventing an old monster in Wytches #1. Forget about pointy hats, bubbling cauldrons or poisoned apples these creatures are looking for blood. Along with artist Jock, Snyder has created an eerie tale that lingers on every page and earns its shocks.

REVIEW: Copperhead #2 by Jay Faerber and Scott Godlewski

Proving that issue one was no fluke, Jay Faerber and Scott Godlewski, get down to the nitty-gritty in Copperhead #2. The sci-fi western takes a police procedural turn now that new sheriff Clara Bronson and deputy Boo are investigating a multiple homicide. Meanwhile, Clara's son and friend find themselves in some trouble of their own.

'Gotham' Review (S1E3): The 'Balloonman' Cometh

Juggling multiple storylines while incorporating a central investigation is no easy feat and Gotham's'Balloonman' mostly succeeds where last week's 'Selina Kyle' faltered a bit. With a vigilante on the loose Detectives Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock have to get along long enough to keep him from sending another (deserving?) victim off on a weather balloon. Yes, I said weather balloon.
