Just in time to re-introduce Aquaman to general audiences as the badass aquatic avenger that he is, Arthur Curry is ready to make his animated debut in Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. Based on the Geoff Johns-penned issues of Aquaman where he solidified his stature as the King of Atlantis this DC Entertainment animated feature should help in altering the character's 'Super Friends' image of lameness. With Jason Momoa reportedly set to portray Aquaman in a live-action cameo in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and as part of a big screen Justice League the timing is right to do some image control for non-comic book fans.
This first look trailer finds Orm and Black Manta ready to battle on the surface after the events of Justice League War devastated Atlantis and leaving the queen searching for Arthur, her other son, to take his proper place as Aquaman.
Due for release in Spring 2015, the voice cast includes Matt Lanter (Aquaman), Sam Witwer (Orm/Ocean Master), Chris Gorham (The Flash), Jason O'Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Jerry O'Connell (Superman), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Sean Astin (Shazam) and many more. The film is Directed by Ethan Spaulding, who directed Son of Batman and co-directed Batman: Assault on Arkham, the last two DC Animated movies.
