After a successful digital run of Sensation Comics featuring Wonder Woman and the retro series for Batman '66, DC Digital announced today during its panel that the Amazon princess will also get a digital series based on the 1970's series that starred Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman '77 .
The six-part weekly series will run during December then collected for print soon after. It will be written by Marc Andreyko and cover art by Nikola Scott. No other creative information was released but could come in the following weeks.
It's great to see that some tribute is being paid to the classic live-action series from 1975 that for most people starred the quintessential Wonder Woman in Lynda Carter. Her 'spinning into Wonder Woman' transformation is still one of the coolest things that transcend geeks and non-geeks alike. Now we'll get to see her likeness triumph over injustice once again. Kudos to DC Comics for doing something right.
