REVIEW: 'Aliens/Vampirella' #5 by Corinna Bechko and Javier Garcia-Miranda

★★★★☆ (4/5)
In the penultimate issue of 'Aliens/Vampirella,' Corinna Bechko and Javier Garcia-Miranda set up the final chapter with some serious game-changing events. Lars and Vampirella continue to fight for their lives but this time with an unexpected ally. This may be a place-holder for the finale but there are enough shocking moments that makes issue five worthwhile.
It can be tough creating the second to last issue of a mini-series. You don't want to give away too much, perhaps there's some housekeeping in order, loose ends to tidy up before the last issue. For Bechko, it's about moving things in place for one potentially bloody end to this great addition to the 'Aliens' mythos.
While on the run, Lars and Vampirella get a hand from Nosferatu. The ancient, and hungry, vampire explains how his people ended up on Mars and discoverved an older race. It's an extended detour that provides plenty of exposition to get out of the way heading into issue 6. We…

The home of 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' is preparing to add another one-hour of superhero action drama to its primetime schedule with 'Legends of Tomorrow' at 9 p.m. In order to get fans ready, the CW will present a half-hour special entitled 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Their Time is Now' that will have clips, interviews, and a detailed look at the characters origin stories. The press release describes the special as follo…

'Captain America: Civil War' Trailer Gets Fantastic LEGO Version

Feast your eyes on this re-creation of the Captain America: Civil War trailer in LEGO.
One of the most anticipated sequels of 2016 is without a doubt 'Captain America: Civil War.' The heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have to choose sides as Captain America and Iron Man go head-to-head in the third installment of Marvel's best franchise series. And no popular film is complete without its own fan-made trailer made in LEGO.

YouTubers JimA73 , a pair of brothers who write and produce brick films, have created a shot for shot LEGO version that uses the original trailer audio but the visuals are all brick animation. It's just as rousing as the live-action version. Check it out below.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.

'Supergirl' Teases New Villains and Martian Manhunter in Promo

In a jam-packed short teaser for CBS's 'Supergirl,' Kara faces new villains, deals with Cat's accusations that she's Supergirl, and learns that Hank is the Martian Manhunter. It's a lot to take in but 'Supergirl' is not slowing down as the show leads into the second half of their rookie season.
Look quickly at the new promo with fights scenes between Kara and Non, her reaction to Hank's true identity, a Supergirl doll that's probably from the Toyman and some devious tactics from Maxwell Lord. Here's the synopsis for the episode 'Blood Bonds.'
“With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat’s allegations that she is Supergirl.”
Supergirl returns Monday at 8 p.m. ET.

REVIEW: 'Jughead' #3 by Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson

★★★★☆ (4/5)
Jughead is in trouble again at school and it's going to take a little help from dad to get out of this jam. Meanwhile, Jughead becomes entangled in some dangerous undercover robot conspiracy action. Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson bring another delightful wacky adventure as only a Jughead story can.
Facing expulsion for bringing a knife to school, Jughead is suspended and also grounded at home. It's driving him crazy, he feels there's been a great injustice and perhaps there's more to what's going on than meets the eye. It manifests itself in one wild daydream that ties all his suspicions together.

It's a formula Zdarsky has relied on with the first two issues as well. Jughead gets in a jam, a crazy daydream (Game of Thrones-style in issue one, a space epic in the second) informs his plan of action, and Jughead cleverly solves his dilemma. In issue three, most of that remains true except with an assist from Jughead's dad. Despite the familiar pat…

Unwrap Awesome New Red and Green Band 'Deadpool' Christmas Day Trailers

The "12 Days of Deadpool" ends with a spectacular potty-mouthed, blood-splattering, red band trailer for 20th Century Fox's 'Deadpool.' The studio also released a less naughty green band trailer that's safe for work. The new trailer lays out the plot, Wade Wilson's (Ryan Reynolds) origin story, and provides longer looks at Colossus, Angel Dust (Gina Carano), and the type of twisted humor straight out of the comics. See it now.

Hugh Jackman Has Your New 'Deadpool' Trailer Right Here to the Chagrin of Ryan Reynolds

Luckily, the GQ session also included a delightful rendition of Bill Murray's SNL lounge singer doing the theme from 'Star Wars' by the multitalented actor and musician.
