COMIC BOOK DAY: Notable New Releases 5/20/15

NEW COMIC BOOK DAY RELEASES 5/20/2015 by Slidely Slideshow

Another new comic day arrives and it's very Image Comics heavy. There's even a double dose of Ed Brubaker with The Fade Out #6 and the trade paperback of Velvet: The Secret Lives of Dead Men. Scott Snyder and Jock continue their creepfest with Wytches #6. There's also two from Jay Faerber with Secret Identities #4 and the trade paperback of Graveyard Shift. Chip Zdarsky's Kaptara is back with issue two and Matt Hawkins' The Tithe #2 ratchets up the tension. But wait! There's some neat stuff from other publishers as well.

Dynamite's new Swords of Sorrow event continues with the Swords of Sorrow: Vampirella/Jennifer Blood miniseries, Dark Horse Comics is killing it with the Archie vs. Predator #2, Valiant has fans cheering for Ninjak #3, and Boom! Studios' UFOlogy #2 brings a fresh sci-fi tale.

And oh yeah, a new start-up called Marvel has the mighty A-Force #1 debut as well as a new Planet Hulk series and the continuation of Star Wars. Happy reading y'all!

Going from destroyer to creator/protector is a major swerve, but parents still have plenty of violent and brutal moments to contend with, especially when the world is full of pyrokinetic sleeper agents, animal/hybrid muscle-squads, and one hell of a nasty boss pulling your…
