Tom Hardy Developing Crime Noir Comic '100 Bullets' for New Line
If you were given an opportunity to get revenge without consequence would you? Agent Graves provides you with intel about the person that ruined you, a gun and a hundred untraceable bullets. It's a tempting offer that many will take but it's all part of a larger conspiracy that unfolds with each new person that is approached. That's the premise of the award-winning comic book series, 100 Bullets, by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso that is being turned into a live-action film by Tom Hardy.
As part of his Hardy Son and Baker production company, Hardy will possibly star and co-produce with Dean Baker for New Line. In a newly restructured production deal, New Line took over development of DC Comic's Vertigo properties from Warner Bros. This allows WB to concentrate on their superhero slate of action films while New Line produces more diverse and edgier fare like 100 Bullets and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's adaption of Neil Gaiman's Sandman.
Chris Borrelli (The Vatican Tapes) has already completed a script making 100 Bullets the Vertigo adaptation that's come furthest in production.
Hardy is coming off the blockbuster new Mad Max: Fury Road film and will next appear in Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritus's western, Revenant.
