Kate Beckinsale is Back and Deadlier Than Ever in "Underworld Blood Wars"

This January, a hero is reborn. #UnderworldMovie

In one of the most unlikely movie franchises, Underworld is back with a fifth installment as the ageless bad-ass Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as the death dealer Selene.

Blood Wars finds her caught between werewolves and vampires with some 'Game of Thrones' alums, Charles Dance and Tobias Menzies, in the mix. The first trailer for the Anna Foerster-directed supernatural action thriller is as moody and exciting as you'd expect.

A solid performer for Sony since its debut in 2003, the Underworld franchise took a dip with its last outing but Blood Wars looks to be an even grander epic, one that may put a conclusion to the series. Beckinsale, like Hugh Jackman, Wesley Snipes, and Milla Jovovich, loves reprising her action hero role and has not aged a day.

Underworld Blood Wars opens on January 6, 2017.

The next installment in the blockbuster franchise follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.
