First Look: BLOODSHOT SALVATION #1 Coming in September from Lemire, LaRosa and Suayan

BLOODSHOT SALVATION #1 – Cover by Ryan Bodenheim

As revealed last week at the third annual #ValiantSummit in Los Angeles, Valiant is proud to present your first look inside BLOODSHOT SALVATION #1 – the FIRST ISSUE of the BLOCKBUSTER NEW ONGOING SERIES from New York Times best-selling writer Jeff Lemire (BLOODSHOT REBORN, Moon Knight) and extraordinary artists Lewis LaRosa (BLOODSHOT REBORN, SAVAGE) & Mico Suayan (BLOODSHOT REBORN)! On September 27th, to protect his true love and newborn daughter from the forces that made him a walking weapon, Valiant’s machine-made soldier will be forced to run his most dangerous mission yet…and begin a harrowing gauntlet of revenge and bloodshed that will forever redefine the course of Bloodshot’s present and future…

Spanning two timelines – the present day (with art by LaRosa) and the future (with art by Suayan) –  Jeff Lemire’s best-selling, critically adored Bloodshot epic explodes with an ALL-NEW JUMPING-ON POINT in BLOODSHOT SALVATION #1 – featuring the essential introduction of Jessie, Bloodshot’s daughter and a new force in the Valiant Universe, following her first cameo appearance in the upcoming VALIANT: X-O MANOWAR FCBD SPECIAL, in stores this Free Comic Book Day!

Now: In the arms of his beloved girlfriend Magic, Bloodshot has finally found hope for the future…in the form of the couple’s unborn child. But when Magic’s estranged family – a cruel and sadistic clan of homegrown criminals – re-emerge to lay claim to their lost daughter, Bloodshot will be pushed back to the brink of madness, mayhem, and warfare…

Soon: Eight years from today, Bloodshot’s daughter has inherited her father’s incredible abilities. Hunted by a high-tech kill squad called Omen, Jessie must hone her powers…and learn how to survive before the world is swallowed whole by the darkness that now pervades America…

“[BLOODSHOT SALVATION] marks a big shift for Bloodshot. He is now a parent, and his mission and focus shifts to protecting Jessie from all the various factions hunting her,” writer Jeff Lemire told IGN. “SALVATION will build off of everything I did in Reborn, but it will not retread the same themes or events. It breaks new ground and takes the character on a whole new journey."

On September 27th, the circle of time envelops Bloodshot’s present and future…and the fate of Valiant’s hard-fought hero runs red as Jeff Lemire, Lewis LaRosa, and Mico Suayan ready a punishing jumping-on point for the most devastating superhero saga in comics today. Bloodshot – and the child he’d do anything to protect – leap into the firefight of their lives when one of 2017’s most anticipated new series begins in full force in BLOODSHOT SALVATION #1 – featuring covers by Ryan Bodenheim (NINJAK, The Dying & The Dead) and Kenneth Rocafort (The Ultimates, Superman)!

Plus: Don’t miss the rest of Valiant’s major “ICONS” launches throughout 2017 with an all-new wave of ongoing series, prestige format projects and standalone events spanning the Valiant Universe’s greatest heroes and top talents! Out of the record-setting success of X-O MANOWAR (2017) #1 – the year’s best-selling series debut from any independent publisher – “ICONS” will continue throughout the year with one major new series launch each month, featuring the publisher’s most enduring heroes:

ADVANCE REVIEW: 'Babyteeth' #1 by Donny Cates, Garry Brown, and Taylor Esposito

Donnie Cates is one busy man. As if writing two concurrent titles for Image Comics - Redneck and God Country - wasn't enough, Cates has found more time and inspiration to pen one for AfterShock Comics. That's where 'Babyteeth' #1 comes in. It's the latest page-turner from one of the hottest creators in comics.

★★★★★ (5/5)
This is Sadie Ritter's story. A first person account as told to her smartphone recording a video for her new offspring. The teenager recounts the incredible details leading to giving birth to the antichrist. That's right, the antichrist. At this point, you couldn't blame Cates for going hog wild with the supernatural fireworks from riding a wave of success and critical cache in his career. Instead, Cates shows some restraint adhering to some professional discipline and lets the story unfold quietly.
With any pregnancy, there's enough anxiety and stress to deal with. Imagine your water breaking unexpectedly and having your older sis…

REVIEW: 'Wonder Woman ’77 Meets Bionic Woman' #4 by Andy Mangels, Judit Tondora, and Roland Pilcz

By this point, you have to love Wonder Woman and Bionic Woman as we enter issue four. Andy Mangels and Judit Tondora have brought not only a nostalgic crossover of television icons together but a great duo of heroic and kind-hearted women with great respect for each other and justice.

★★★★☆ (4/5)
The heart and joy of 'Wonder Woman '77 Meets the Bionic Woman' #4 is seeing Jamie Sommers being welcomed to Paradise Island as Wonder Woman brings her home for a visit. It's a scene fans may not have ever imagined before this comic arrived but get to relish the love and hospitality of the Amazons. The beauty of crossovers like this is making things that seemed impossible possible. Two characters from different worlds brought together to fight a malicious menace that combines the idiosyncracies of each into one fantastic fun read.
Along with Diana's mother, Queen Hippolyta, we get to see a couple of fan favorites from the television series. Drusilla, played by Debra Winger …
