'Supergirl' Pilot Leaks Onto Pirate Sites Ahead of Its Fall Debut

Pirate sites have apparently gotten hold of high-quality copies of CBS's upcoming superhero drama, Supergirl, six months before its scheduled debut. The leaked pilot reportedly hit file-sharing sites early Friday morning and had been downloaded over 120,000 times. That number has grown exponentially since then but CBS has declined comment thus far.

The show based on DC Comics' character, Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, stars Melissa Benoist as the titular hero. The buzz has been growing since the first official trailer was released with over 11 million views. CBS has an enormous amount of confidence in the series produced by Berlanti Productions, the creators behind the CW's winning Arrow and The Flash, as it quickly placed a series order soon after they greenlit the pilot.

TV pilots rarely leak this far in advance of its premiere but optimistically it could drive more eyeballs to the show when it officially debuts in November. The second trailer released was effective in revealing more action than the first one that was more light-hearted. With the leak, the show could benefit or it could be a detriment heading into the fall television season.

Supergirl is slated to join the CBS Monday night line-up at 8 p.m. putting it directly in competition with another DC Comics-based show on Fox, Gotham.

  1. Part of me wants to go find it; another part of me wants to join the demos that watch it when it debuts. I don't want to spoil it...

  2. I know what you mean. It seems dirty to see it now but we don't know how it leaked. Especially considering it came out in HD makes it more suspicious. I've read one review and it was positive so that's good.

WONDER WOMAN OF THE DAY: Fitness Model Gia Macool Embodies the Amazon Princess

The closest we'll ever get, probably, to superheroes in real life is through the great work of cosplayers. You see them at every pop culture convention from the very basic to extremely elaborate costume design. However, you don't have to be a cosplayer to enjoy dressing up as your favorite superhero from time to time. Take fitness model and entrepreneur Gia Macool for example. An accomplished fitness competitor and model, Macool is also a big fan of DC Comics' Wonder Woman. She shows her love of the iconic Amazon Princess in her fitness wear, meal prep accessories and even a full blown photo shoot in a Wonder Woman costume.

For decades comics have featured very muscular superheroes, male and female, epitomizing the human form at its strongest. So when bodybuilders and fitness pros decide to suit up as these costumed heroes, they are the embodiment of those fictional characters in the flesh. Macool looks like she stepped out of the pages of a Wonder Woman comic with a suit …

So much so that Manion began publishing his own comic book, Iron Siren Comics, featuring some of the fitness competitors he's covered as superheroes themselves. It's no wonder he sometimes incorporates superhero cosplay and body paint into photo shoots. Here are just some examples of his work:
