Proving there's never a bad time to drop a brand new action-packed trailer even on a late Friday night. Paramount did just that and the second trailer for 'Star Trek Beyond' directed by Justin Lin, is a wild emotional roller coaster.

During a fan event in Los Angeles on Friday night, the trailer debuted and it was announced that 'Star Trek Beyond' will have its world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20th, two days before its released in theaters. It's not just any world premiere either. It will be the world’s very first outdoor IMAX screening including a live orchestra. Good luck getting a ticket to that.

In the new trailer, Idris Elba is taking the Enterprise crew behind the woodshed forcing Captain Kirk and company to abandon ship as its destroyed. The separated crew has to reunite and survive on a hostile planet. Unlike the first trailer, the new one balances the action with some character moments that should be a relief to some fans who thought it was going to be 'Fast and Furious' in space.

Watch the new trailer for 'Beyond' starring Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban.

Star Trek Beyond is coming to theatres July 22, 2016.
