REVIEW: 'Motor Crush' #10 by Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart, and Babs Tarr

While Dom tries to locate her dad, chaos ensues when underground racers try to take over the streets again attacking the WGP and hijacking Crush.

Writer: Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart, Babs Tarr Artist: Babs Tarr Publisher: Image Comics Release Date: February 28, 2018 Cover Price: $3.99
Score: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
Brenden Fletcher and Cameron Stewart have put Dom through so much that she's overdue for a win. It doesn't come easy as she searches for her dad but has to put up with Decimus Wexler and his dickish attitude. It's his fault, after all, it was his dosage of Crush that Dom took that caused the time jump turning Dom's life upside down. Now he's training the smitten Ya-Ya while withholding Dom's true origin for leverage. If that wasn't bad enough, the Royal Bastard Squad has their sights set on taking the Crush stash from Denim Fang.
In the two years that Dom jumped a lot changed, most notably Crush was taken off the streets leaving racer …

REVIEW: 'Vampirella' #10 by Jeremy Whitley, Andy Belanger, Matt Gaudio, Alex Sanchez, and Lee Loughridge

Vampirella aka "Ellie" is tested like never before when Pantha thrusts her and Vicki into the lion's den.

Writer: Jeremy Whitley Artists: Andy Belanger, Matt Gaudio,  Alex Sanchez, Lee Loughridge Letterer: Travis Lanham Publisher: Dynamite Entertainment Release Date: February 21, 2018 Cover Price: $3.99
Score: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Jeremy Whitley is an excellent writer. Anyone who's read his 'Princeless' series or Marvel's 'Unstoppable Wasp' can attest to it. Here, with 'Vampirella' he seems like a man possessed giving Vampi a rapid-fire dystopian adventure the likes fans had not see before. In the center of this 'Mad Max: Fury Road'-like storm is a romance between Vampi and Vicki that is sweet and romantic despite the chaos that surrounds them. To make matters worse, the emergence of Pantha has imprisoned them both with their lives hanging in the balance. Whitley is certainly putting Vampi through her paces in one great wild r…

PREVIEW: 'BEAUTIFUL CANVAS: Collected Trade' by Ryan K Lindsay, Sami Kivela, and Triona Farrell

Coming next week from Black Mask is BEAUTIFUL CANVAS, an elegant, gorgeously rendered, insanely twisted story that's kind of like The Professional if Leon was a queer hitwoman and Matilda was a boy with powers.

Written by Ryan K Lindsay (Eternal, Negative Space, DC Writers Program), illustrated by Sami Kivela (Abbott), and colored by Triona Farrell (Doctor Who), Beautiful Canvas was a breakout buzz book in 2017 that continues to garner increasing acclaim and attention.
Beautiful Canvas is 2017's smash hit warped crime miniseries about Lon Eisley discovering the similarities and differences between her job as a hitwoman and her new role as a mother-to-be when she finds out her girlfriend is pregnant.

Going from destroyer to creator/protector is a major swerve, but parents still have plenty of violent and brutal moments to contend with, especially when the world is full of pyrokinetic sleeper agents, animal/hybrid muscle-squads, and one hell of a nasty boss pulling your…
